Inspire Volunteering Awards
The CAB social policy volunteers have been chosen within the Volunteer Scotland sponsored - Volunteering for Inclusion & Equality category, for their ground breaking Plain English Guide to Universal Credit
Even in this digital age, many people are not computer literate, have no access to the internet and have never had any experience of using a computer. Many claimants of the new Universal Credit have found this to be a challenging problem and, as result, have faced delays in their claim or sanctions due to a failure to fulfil their commitment as a result of this lack of IT knowledge.
To help address the issues facing people who do not have the IT experience or capacity needed to negotiate Universal Credit, Stirling CAB has produced a series of factsheets that have been accredited by the Plain English Society, aimed at simplifying the process of claiming this new benefit. In short these factsheets do what they say on the tin.
